Biography

Dr. Barrientos is an associate professor in Department of Psychiatry and the Institute for Behavioral Medicine Research. Her research focuses on the vulnerabilities associated with the aging brain that make it more susceptible to inflammatory insults (e.g., infection, surgery, and unhealthy diets) resulting in memory dysfunction ranging from mild cognitive impairments to Alzheimer’s Disease.
