Biography
Dr. Andreas Beyer is an associate professor of of Medicine and Physiology, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Medical College of Wisconsin, WI, USA, with a background in genetics and cardiovascular physiology. His laboratory is one of the few in the United States who study the physiological and pathological mechanisms of human microvascular function including in the coronary circulation. His lab specifically focus on the role of microvascular endothelial cells; their function and contributions to development of chronic cardiovascular maladies, and was the first lab to publish a critical contribution of telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) to the pathological phenotype observed in human subjects with CAD.
