Biography

Dr. Jianping Wang obtained her Ph.D. degree in Plant Genetics and Breeding program at Michigan State University, in 2005. From 2005 till 2010, she worked as a postdoctoral research associate in plant genetics and genomics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since 2010, Dr. Wang has been a faculty member with tenure in Agronomy Department, University of Florida. Dr. Wang’s research has been focused on translational genomics for crop improvement, specifically on identifying the genetic components underlying important agronomic traits of crops, such as disease resistance and peanut symbiosis. Her research has been published in more than 90 peer-reviewed journal articles.
