Biography

Timo Tuuri is currently working as a chief embryologist at the Helsinki University Hospital IVF-laboratory, Finland. His research is focused on the molecular mechanisms controlling early embryonic development in humans as well as the formation of somatic cell lineages in gonads during foetal development. In addition, the control of cellular and molecular interplay regulating follicular development and function in human ovaries are of particular interest. Dr. Tuuri has long experience working with human embryonic stem cells studying their basic characteristics as well as differentiation into mesodermal and neural directions.
